Mallory and I had this conversation this morning before school:
Mallory: I don't want to go to school. I just want to stay home with you.
Me: Well, I hate to break it to you, but you have to go to school for the next 12 or so years.
Mallory: And then we get to go on vacation?
Me: No. Then you get to go to college.
Mallory: I don't want to go to college! Why do I have to go to college? I don't want to get a job!
Me: You need to go to college so you can be educated.
Mallory: I don't know what that means.
Me: That's why you need to go to college.
That's awesome! Unfortunately for me, I have this same conversation with some of my freshmen, but when the conversation ends, they just think I'm crazy and lying.
ReplyDeleteI just love you and your family. We wish we live closer to you, and then we could be friends!
ReplyDeleteSWEET! Love it! Love what's in the minds of children! :0)
ReplyDeleteThat cracks me up...what a cutie-pie! Glad you're writing these things down...15 years from now when she's getting ready to graduate from college, you can remind her of this conversation!
ReplyDeleteLove the laughter she brings ;.)
