College

Mallory and I had this conversation this morning before school:

Mallory: I don't want to go to school. I just want to stay home with you.
Me: Well, I hate to break it to you, but you have to go to school for the next 12 or so years.
Mallory: And then we get to go on vacation?
Me: No. Then you get to go to college.
Mallory: I don't want to go to college! Why do I have to go to college? I don't want to get a job!
Me: You need to go to college so you can be educated.
Mallory: I don't know what that means.
Me: That's why you need to go to college.

Bishop's Pumpkin Patch

We went to Bishop's Pumpkin Patch this last Friday and had a blast.  Bishop's is a huge farm in Wheatland (about 20 minutes away) with a petting zoo, hay ride, train ride, slides and pumpkin patches that stretch out as far as the eye can see.

The kids loved petting/brushing the goats.

Zachary is obsessed with all things trains.  He LOVES railroad crossings.  He calls them "ding dings" because of the sound they make when they go down.  We have a lot of railroad crossings near our home, so we go over the tracks a LOT, just so he can look at the ding dings.

There wasn't anyone nearby that I could snag to take a family picture of us, so we had to take them in shifts.  Better than nothin' I guess.

Zachary .. dancing.  He always makes me laugh.

Tractor!  He was so excited about this tractor (and all tractors, trains, trucks, planes, helicopters, and cars ... he is SUCH a boy .. I love it)

Zachary fell down about 6 or 7 times while walking through the pumpkin patch.  He just didn't lift his feet up enough to get over the vines.  He was SUCH a mess by the time we were done.  Needless to say, both kids got thrown in the tub when we got home.  It was a great day though.

Zachary's 3rd Birthday

My Zachary turned 3 years old on September 21st.

He is such a sweet boy and I feel so blessed to call him mine.

I figured I should post these pictures before this next baby comes along and Zachary is the forgotten middle child.

He can be quite the stinker ... but he makes up for it with the best hugs and "smooches" a boy can give.  He also makes me laugh all the time.  I just can't get enough of him.

We had a party for him on his actual birthday - we invited the Crabtree Family over for the festivities.

We swam, BBQ'd, and had cupcakes.

I thought it would be nice if we just ate Zach's favorite foods .. but then we'd only be eating strawberries and cheese sticks, so I decided to make hot dogs and hamburgers instead.

3 years olds are so easy to shop for.  Zach told me what he wanted for his birthday - he wanted a Thomas the Train Party, a lego set, Emperor Zurg (from Toy Story), and a new train.  So .. that's what he got.  I also got him some clothes.

The kids played "Pin the Funnel on Thomas".

I laughed outloud when the kids put the mask on.  I had to get a picture of each of them in it.

Scotty, of course, won.  He may have been cheating. =o)

The next day, we headed down to Scott and Shaleah's to help them move into their new house.

We had a little party for Zach after dinner.

Haddie and Papa got him this train set.  He plays with it every day.  He LOVES trains.

I love these pictures .. the kids all sitting around, just watching Uncle Scott put the train track together.

Look who's 3!

Aunt Sondra and Zachary's birthdays are a week apart.

Happy Happy Birthday to my Zach-attack!
