Petersen Family - 2013

You know that phrase, "All Because Two People Fell In Love" ?

Well .. I think that pretty much sums up this post.

This beautiful couple fell in love.

Then they had Sondra and she married Jonathan and they had three kids.

Then Shaleah .. she married Scott and they had two girls.

Then came me.  I married Wesley and we have three kids.

Then Soren.  He married Trisha and they have two dogs.

Life is pretty dang good to us.

Each of us girls had a girl of our own in 2006.

Our One Year Old!

Our little Avery turned One on November 1st.

I, of course, could not get a picture of her to look at the camera.  She was ALL over the place.  I wanted a cute picture of her with her little crown, but she just kept taking it off - my little stinker.

This year has just flown by so quickly.  We love having Avery in our family.  She is a sweet girl.  She smiles and laughs all the time.  She follows me around ALL day and gets into EVERYTHING.  She loves her siblings and wants to keep up with them and do whatever they are doing.

I love watching Avery with Wesley.  She has him wrapped around her little finger.  He loves on her so much and it is so sweet to watch.

Grandma has been able to be here this weekend (she flew in on Halloween) and it was so fun celebrating Avery's birthday with her.  It's taken Avery a while to warm up to her, so this was a very special moment captured by Wesley.

We had a few friends over for dessert on Friday night.  My friend, Brittney, made this cake for her.  She is so talented and has made SO many things for me over the years.  I still need to do a post of Avery's nursery.  Brittney has been helping me so much with it and it has really come together.

Avery was NOT interested in her cake at all at first.

Wesley tried to get her to taste it ...

but, she didn't like that at all.

She just kept crying, and staring at it .. wondering what the heck it was for.

Wesley cut up a piece of it for her and put it on her tray.  She got interested after that.

Happy, Happy Birthday Avery Girl!!   We love you!!

Halloween 2013

This Halloween was a lot of fun.

Wesley's mom flew in around 4pm and we picked her up from the airport, picked up some pizza, had dinner and went trick or treating.

Avery was SO mad about her bat costume, but she got over it.  And, yes she went bare footed trick or treating .. we are wonderful parents.

My Peacock Princess.  I should have taken a picture without her glasses.  She really wanted LOTS of sparkles all over her eyes.  She's very into anything sparkly.

Wolverine.

Cutest Bat in the whole wide world.

Picnic at the Temple

Last Friday, we met Wesley up at the Temple for a picnic dinner.  The weather has been beautiful and we wanted to enjoy it before it went away.  (It already went away .. it's officially fall around here)

The sunset was beautiful, the food was yummy and the kids were all happy.  Couldn't ask for anything more.

I love having a temple close by.  I love taking my kids to see it and I love listening to them as they walk around the temple grounds.

They always ask a lot of questions about the temple and what we do inside.  It's always a special experience to share with them.

I'm glad my mom was able to be there and hang out with us.

Avery's face cracks me up here.

Zach was very interested in all the bugs that were caught in the light.

Haddie and Avery.

Ricky's Ranch

We are big fans of Pumpkin Patches and it was nice that Wesley found one close to our house one day.

My mom was here last weekend, so we decided to take her with us to Ricky's Ranch.

Mallory, of course, had to ride the pony.  That girl is in LOVE with horses.

Haddie walking with Avery.  This girl of mine HATES wearing socks and shoes.  It's so funny.  She just loves having bare feet.  She was having a hard time walking with her shoes on.

Feeding the goats some grass.

Nothing like going to a pumpkin patch in shorts and flip flops.  It was 85 degrees that day.  Love California weather.

Avery has her daddy wrapped around her finger, so she whined enough .. and he took her socks and shoes off.

She was beyond happy, walking around all over the dirt and hay shoeless.  Silly girl.

These are our typical pictures these days.  I can't get Avery to stay still for more than 2 seconds.  Mallory is always trying to help .. and Zach just sits back and smiles.  Love these kids.
